Herper Game Idea/Suggestions...
Is there anyone here that would play a reptile breeding simulation game? The reason I ask is because I have one in the works (still in the planning/beta stage), I have seen games that simulate dog breeding, fish breeding, etc. But not once have I seen a herp breeding sim. The game I have been working on would have the following features:
- Buy, Breed and sell your herps
- A complete list of pattern and colour variations for each species to choose from
- Ability to produce new variations
- Ability to milk venomous reptiles and sell the venom to research
- and more
The games main focus is on realism. However the aging of your animals will not be too realistic (let's face it no one wants to wait 2-3 years for the animals to be able to breed in a game), however you will still have to wait for them to reach a certain age in game time. You will also be able to update species information so the game stays current. This game would also be educational.
Let me know what you think, and if you think it would be a worthwhile project. All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
Steve

Might get people addicted to just the fact of breeding an animal.
MAybe you could make one liek those egg games they had a while back, your egg would hartch and you would have a odd thing you would have to feed it when it beeps, change it's diaper....

Well I have asked this on other forum sites. But I have played scorpion, and tarantula breeding as well as the ones you listed. They are quite fun. But after a few weeks it gets boring...

This would sort of be like that except you would have a lot more options. You would have to care for all the herps in your collection (i.e. buy and setup enclosures complete with lighting, heating, etc, etc) just like real herps and if you don't take care of them then they die, but if you practice good husbandry then you will be able to breed them and make money to purchase more animals to add to your collection, and if your lucky you might create a new morph.

Snakes (I want to try and incorporate all well-known species and variations as well as some of the rarer ones), Lizards (same as above), and amphibians.

It would be fun.

I've heard of a game called Dogz 4, and from what I gather you adopt a dog(s), take care of it/them, breed it, etc. You could may do something like that except with snakes, or lizards.
