A funny story!
My best friend and I went to the shore over the weekend and when we got back, her and I went to the pet store to get food for my animals. Well, she's a total animal lover, just like me but she cant handle what snakes eat. So I got our dumeril a small hopper. She didnt look at it b/c she'd get upset. We got home and after awhile, I was looking in the tank and I couldnt find the mouse. I then found him and she came wondering in and saw the mouse. She got all upset so now she's taking this mouse home with her to keep as a pet, LOL! She knows theres a chance she may not make it but she's willing to try. I still laugh when I think about it, LOL!

Hehe, that is funny... however, your friend has to accept some facts of life... Animals eat other animals... that's how nature works! =)

Id want a refund, or something in exchange, to be completely honest anyone who steals a meal from any of my herps, other than the other herps that i own, is going to have a big problem, a 6.5 ft 260lb problem to be exact.

A friend of mine did the same thing when (a place I used to work at) gave me 2 hamster fuzzies to feed to my spotted. My friend couldn't stand the idea of them being eaten, so I had to help her feed them. They lived about 5 days, then both died. She burried them in her back yard.

Yeah... don't most people have to get over that point at some time? We used to talk about the issue of "live food".
Just one of the things we gotta do!! :grab:

trying to help other people understand that "animals eat other animals" is all fine and dandy, but we also need to respect the fact that alot of people are sensitive towards other animals feelings, in this case a lil hopper mouse. My suggestion is to not buy feeders around such people like your friend.

LOL, we definitely wont be feeding our snakes when shes at our house! We went back to the pet store last night and got another fuzzy for our dumerils and a pinky for my king.
I feel bad for them but thats life. Our animals have to eat just like we do! She understands how the food chain works, its just hard for her!

Ah the food chain...I get some of the most horrified looks when people ask what my snakes eat...and then to discover that there are mice and rats in my freezer. I thought when I first got my herps that I would have a problem with it but all along I have understood that it is the natural circle. I'm just glad nobody has come up with "Snake Pellets" cause I really wouldn't be comfortable with that.
