Talking hipocrit?

all of my life i have been at odds with the arachnid family. i still think some spiders are kinda creepy, bbut i love the looks of T's and scorps.

so my q for yall is, im going to a show in about a week, and i know for sure that their will be some emp. scorps. there, and i was wondering aht their toxicity level is.

i doubt i will bring one home, but if i can prove my knowledge to my parents maybe, just maybe i can convince my parents.

is it true that i can feed them like snakes, once a week, about two crickets.
thanx

It depends on what species we are talking about and your own body. For someone who is allergic to bees, many tarantula venmos can cause quite a reaction! But for those of us not allergic to bees, most tarantula venom won't cause much harm. Old world species seem to have the worst venom.

The common T's from pet stores etc, like red leg, birdeaters, etc seem to have mild venoms and they won't hurt most people at all.

The chances of being bitten are slim anyways but its definitly something to think over if you are allergic to bees. I have two tarantulas and have had them both for almost two years, I have never even touched one of them let alone been bitten.

Hello!

Emperor scorpions' venom is nothing. Everyone reacts differently to a scorpion sting, a tarantula bite, or anything else that has venom. It depends of the person and the place of the sting/bite.

Emperors' stings won't send you to the hospital, they're usually very docile scorps (one of the very few species that CAN be handled, but it isn't recommended).

A ten gallon tank would be enough for one, be sure to cover at lead 75% of the lid to keep the humidity in, as they're tropical scorpions. Try to reach the higher humidity possible, the higher is the better for them! If you don't put too much substrate or unless there's something that may help them to escape, they shouldn't. Anyways, just lock the lid and you'll be fine

As adults, you can feed them 3-4 big crickets a week.

Good luck! Emps are a good scorpion species when you're starting, but if you prefer to observe them, you may be better with another species!
