I love my BCI!
I just had to share with you my renewed enthusiasm for snakes. Remember that feeling you got the first time you held a snake? I'll never forget how I felt the first time I held my first corn snake. It was the first snake I ever held and the first snake I ever bought. Well after a while you hold so many snakes both yours and other peoples that you almost become complacent. You get the attitude that if you've held one corn you held them all etc. Every once in while you'll come across something you've never seen before and you'll get a little excited but it's never as big a deal as it was the first time.
Well I don't know why but every time I take out my new BCI I get that old feeling of excitement all over again. I'm sure it will ware off but for now I'm loving it. Every time I take her out I just hate to put her back in.
I'm glad that after all this time and 30 snakes later I can still get excited about holding a snake. I'll be glad if I make some money off some of my projects but I truly am in it because I love reptiles and this snake has sort of brought me back to basics or roots of it if you know what I mean.
Long rant I know but I had to share this with a group that would understand what I meant. If I went to work tomorrow and told my principal how much I enjoy my Boa Constrictor she's probably send me home for the day!
Cheers,
Trevor

That is a really cool post... thanks for sharing.
I know what you mean about the BCI - I'm absolutely in love with mine, too, and I always feel exhilarated by her sheer power whenever we take her out. She's just pure muscle and instinct and you've got to respect that. Awesome. And she's on 6ft so far... eek.
Fantastic creatures!.

I know exactly how you feel. I can't enough of my BCIs!! I have 5 now (pictures pending for the 2 new ones I haven't officially announced yet, hehehehe), and each and every one of them just renews my absolute adoration of snakes every single time. I can just never get sick of these gentle giants.

I felt that way when I first held a large snake. My first retic and my first burmese. I've actually never had the pleasure to hold or own a BCI though, but that'll change eventually.
