It's very expensive, you can normally find them at 30-35$ CAD (at arachnomania.net or anywhere else) and worst of all.. desert hairies are VERY VERY HARD to raise to adulthood but when they reach it, they're real tanks! So, even if she's pregnant, it doesn't worth the very high price. From what I read, Hadrurus sp. will never stop eating and will become very fat so the desert hairy may not be pregnant but just very fat.

While it is true that they do get fat, they are light enough that if they are genuinely gravid you should be able to see the developing embryos through the pleural membrane. Still, if she is gravid your chances of raising the babies up are about as bleak as Frank says.

Cheers,
Dave

Hard to raise as scorplings, eh? Hm. Hadn't considered that. There's I believe 3 females to choose from, and they all looked pregant... a closer look is in order now though.

Anyone know what the average shipping cost from Montreal is?

I can ship to you via greyhound bus for $12 and all you need to do is pick it up at your nearest bus depot. I could also ship via fedex to your door for $25. I don't have any in stock at the moment but can get you some within a day if you need. I would have to look into the price but I would guess $40. I also depends on how many you need. PM me for more details.

Actualy VERY hard to raise. In other words, if you do manage to raise some to adulthood, please tell the top breeders in the world because this problem has them scratching their heads. Generaly speaking, most people can get them to about third instar and then they all die.

Cheers,
Dave
