How are all the egg-bound Cal Kings??
Was wondering how all the kings (and corns) were doing after having slugs removed or passed - have they all laid and recovered by now??
Our Cal King (the mis-sexed male that laid eggs for the first time this year) did lay all hers on her own - we figured that as long as she was passing at least a couple a day we would not interfere because it was an indication that things were moving through. I did rupture one that was right at the vent when I picked her up the morning of the second day - and it drained out and then she passed the skin that afternoon. It took her 7 days to pass a clutch of 29 eggs with between 2 to 6 per day (usually overnight). She stayed alert and strong throughout and fed vigorously the last day (still had two eggs that we could feel about 6 inches from the vent - and she passed those than night). She is very thin - I still can't believe she had so many eggs - but she is acting completely normal now. We figure we are lucky that there were no problems and I think we will breed her next year (once her weight recovers) so we are at least dealing with fertile eggs.
How have other snakes progressed??
