Need a snake ID please

Found this little guy sunning himself on the concrete parking lot at work. He is about 12 inches long and about 1/8 in diameter. When he is defensive he puffs a little and his body increases about 5 - 10% in diameter. I think he might hiss but I can't be sure as it was noisy outside.

Thanks guys.

Definitely a juvenile racer-harmless and non-venomous. Your state and city would narrow subspecies down further, but won't change that this snake is harmless. As it ages it will lose it's pattern and become a solid color

Yeah, after I hit 'post' I realized that I forgot to mention that I'm in south-west Florida.

Ok, you have a juvenile black racer, Coluber Constrictor Priapus.

Cool looking reptile! Loving that rust color along his lower ventrolateral scales. Great pics.
