My female western

Had this female since 2012.
Recently switched to an eco earth substrate as she was having shedding issues.
Hopefully this does the trick. Plus she loves burrowing in it.

It's a western hognose, rearfanged colubrid, super mild mannered and wonderful snakes to add to any collection. =)

She has only tagged me once that I couldn't get her off
Took nearly ten minutes trying every trick I know of. From listerine,water, alcohol.
Finally used a tongue depresser.
These are the results. Swelling is 30hrs after bite.
By far the worst I've had. Very painful for days after along with bruising and massive amounts of discharge from the bite mark.

None of mine have ever gotten me yet. >_>

They hiss and bluff strike, but never actually strike. That would really suck for me too since I type all day long x.x

It doesn't take any antivenom lol.

There's nothing tou can do but wait it out. It also reacts differentlyin different people like a bee sting.

And again, they RARELY bite. =)

Exactly. It was similar to the pain of a hornet sting with flu like symptoms afterwards.
Just time and rest.
