My Hogs ARE Eating

Often you keep seeing posts about Western Hognose' going off feed or never eating to begin with. I went through this phase with all three of my hogs. My solution that got even my most stubborn tiny hog to eat was housing them in tiny, secure, uninteresting looking sandwich containers. I guess the security of being in a small space with a hide and lots of burrowing substrate made them feel comfortable enough to eat. I also had success with the paper bag method. No scenting was needed.

These aren't feeding pics but here is my freshly shed normal male just chilling this morning

So, if your Western hog is not eating review your set up.

Re: My Hogs ARE Eating

Well done! Can you expand on how you fed? Feeding response (dangle) or left in a dish overnight? And a little more info on the hide venting ect..

Do I set this up inside my current enclosure to regulate heat? Mine hasn't eaten in a few months but is active and drinking water. Just looking for some more details and tips as I like your idea. Paper bag didn't work for me a month ago.

This is a good example of why, when it comes to snake enclosures, sometimes smaller really is better. But it can be incredibly difficult to convince some people of that fact. I'm glad your little ones are eating for you.
