Substrate

What does everyone use as their substrate? I use cypress mulch but my blood hides in it all of the time.

I was using aspen but then I heard that they could burrow in it and get it caught in their mouth, so I switched to paper towel. It is much easier to clean and feed on! And I really don't think Helios cares either way

I USE A MIXTURE OF WOOD CHIPS AND CEDER MULCH. IT MIGHT NOT BE THE EASIEST TO CLEAN BUT IT IS MORE OF A NATURAL SETTING FOR MY BORNEO BLOOD. SHE LOVES TO BARRY HER SELF IN IT.

We use cypress for most of our snakes, it'spretty easy to spot clean and holds moisture well.

Like Katey said, the oils in cedar are very hamrful. They cause severe neurological damage that can lead to death in reptiles.
