Good afternoon.
So, it has come to this. Sigh...
I don't like snakes, and my wife got two Epicrates cenchria gaigei.
The only two snakes I have ever liked has died in our care. The first was a Epicrates cenchria cenchria. Which we found at a local pet store. We did not know at the time, but he had IBD. We learned later they got them from a clearing house. He managed to eat two meals, the started to throw up. We both cried for days after the vet gave us a diagnoses. We forced fed for days, finally after he was staring at the top of the cage moving head in circles, the vet decided it was better to put down. That was 15 years ago.
Right after that, a neighbor was moving out and dropped off, by that I mean we found it in a box on our door step, a Pantherophis guttatus. We owned her for 14 years, but last year she stopped eating. A tumor started to form on her nose. The vet said that she was just getting old and well, you know the story.
So a year has passed. She wanted a new snake. I don't like them. And when she ordered two Epicrates cenchria gaigei, all the pain from losing the first one rush forward.
Wow, I have ranted on long enough.
So, bottom line. I am here for information and support. My wife is fine with them, but I worry about everything.
So that is the story.

Re: Good afternoon.
Sorry for the long pause. The little female was really nippy, so my wife handled her. She swears that everything that would want to pick her up is trying to eat her. She swears. (Except for the hand that was holding her) The little male was just a little boa ball.
Lets see if the pictures upload.

Re: Good afternoon.
Welcome from a fellow forum newbie.
Both my wife and I understand and share your pain at losing a snake. Our first bredli, also "adopted", developed a tumour internally, which ended up around its heart. We watched helplessly as it passed in front of us in a matter of minutes.
Hopefully these little guys help to ease your fears, and help to numb your loss.
