Azazel meets Crowley
Two of my bettas happen to be in quarantine, and I have them set up right next to Azazel's enclosure so the heat from his light will hopefully keep their water a little warmer.
Well, I had Zaze out today, and thought that some pictures of him crawling around the tanks would be interesting. Turns out Crowley's not too fond of snakes- he nearly jumped out of the water trying to get to poor ol' Zaze!

Re: Azazel meets Crowley
Love the names... I'm a Winchester fan too. My new snake was going to be named Beelzebub due to it's attitude but the wife said no so I settled for Crowley lol

Re: Azazel meets Crowley
I kept and still keep bettas, and they are feisty little fish. Such personality packed into a couple inches of fish. By far my favorite type of fish to keep.
But they are carnivores, and definitely have eyes bigger than their stomachs. It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that a healthy adult male betta wanted to go a few rounds with your corn. I came into the possession of a betta that even managed to kill a young turtle from repeatedly biting its face until it removed the turtle's eyes. Why my friends ever thought it was a good idea to house a turtle and a betta together will forever elude me, but they didn't want the fish after that, so I ended up with him. Was quite a nice fish whilst I had him - where he lived in a ten gallon by himself.

Haha! I love it!
I'm trying to keep a supernatural theme amongst my betta's names, but eventually all the good ones ran out! Right now I have Misha (plays Castiel), Rufus, Victor, and Chet. I used to have three others that were named Gordon, Ash, and Osiris too
Edit: Nataku- bettas are one of my favorites too! I guess that's why I have so many! lol. All of the bettas listed above, plus two unnamed ones!

Re: Azazel meets Crowley
I've had more than twenty over the last two decades, each one had a distinctly memorable personality. I've yet to find another species of fish that does that, and I've also kept several relatively large fresh and salt water tanks over the years with a variety of other species (oyster toadfish are my second favorite fish, they have some spunk too, not as much as bettas though).
I keep two bettas right now. Colonel Mustard (a 'mustard gas') and Ruffles (curly-tipped crown-tail).
