First Garter Sake

I have always had a fascination with this species, and I was wondering if any one could offer me some solid advice on a great beginner Garter Snake. I am not new to keeping snakes, money is not an issue, I'm looking for an ative colorful snake.

Re: First Garter Sake

The care for each subspecies is essentially the same, so I'd say just pick the one you find most attractive. I personally really like Wanderings, Red-Sideds, and Checkereds.

I'm sure Wayne will be able to help you out some more as well and he probably knows some good sources to get garters from.

Re: First Garter Sake

where in Canada do you live?? Just asking as here in BC it is illegal to own a garter without an "indiginous species" licence.

Other than that, reptile 65 is right, wayne is the one to talk to about garters!!
