Question First time shedding

hi, I got a king snake last month and it's the first time he's shedding. He's my first snake too.
is there anything i need to do to make sure he sheds right?
I heard snakes bask in water when their shedding, but hes just hiding...

Re: First time shedding

If the humidity in the enclosure is correct then he should shed fine, dont keep kings but my corns have never used their water bowls (that i have observed) and tend to hide up for a week or so before i find the shed skin in their vivs.

Re: First time shedding

Yeh, bring the humidity up a bit above normal and leave him be.
If you get a full shed the humidity was fine, if its in pieces chances are it was a little low, and if you find poop in the shed he likes you and wants to leave you with a present.
