Re: Whats the Morph of my Spider Royal ?
Looks like a normal. Spider is it's own morph and one of the more distinct paterns.
Still a beauty though!

Re: Whats the Morph of my Spider Royal ?
He looks like a exceptionally but oddly patterned normal which puts him in the class known as "dinkers". Congrats! Your best line of action would be to breed him to another normal and see what gets produced or what hidden gene or trait he may be carrying. Good luck. He really is a nice looking guy. With the high yellow and reduced pattern he might surprise everyone.

The spider gene completely changes the pattern so yours is definitely not that. There are quite a few very subtle gene mutations so there is a small chance your ball is something different. As Albert said, without knowing the heritage, the only way to know would be to prove out heritability by breeding.

I'm not picking on you by any means I just thought it would be a good teachable moment.
Dinker is a fairly new term for when people thought a snake had a genetic trait and would then breed it.
In this case if he wants to prove it out it's better to pick something with similar traits than a normal. I would recommend something like pastel as it looks like a black pastel-ish so you'd see the pewters pretty quick. A super pastel would be cool.
Or an ivory to see if it fits into the YB complex.

Re: Whats the Morph of my Spider Royal ?
I can see that. Then we also should seek out the parents of this animal as well. If possible, and we could go back that far ( which isn't out of the realm) we need the seller or breeder to qualify the grandparents of said individual. So, parentage and grandparentage might yield a clue to the hidden ( if any) genetics. I was thinking a known normal would be a good pairing ( with this individual) to express the color and pattern variation here. And the reduced pattern is more apparent laterally and not dorsally. The dorsal seems to be where the pattern and coloration become atypical for a normal.

Re: Whats the Morph of my Spider Royal ?
I think the confusion is that you think a normal ball python is the same as a spider. A normal ball python is what you have and a spider ball python is a completely different looking animal. The first picture sam posted is a spider ball python.
