So I have a Red Tail Boa and can't figure out for the life of me if she is BCC or BCI could you help? Here is what I do know, she is female, she is about 3 feet long, and she is less than a year old.

Re: BCC or BCI... Help.

Don't see any obvious signs of BCC.

Re: BCC or BCI... Help.

Wish I knew what either of them meant, myself. BCI - BCC - BCO...? What's the difference between and how do you tell?

Re: BCC or BCI... Help.

Different localities. Bci are common boas, which are the morphs you see for sale. Generally speaking they come from Northern South America and central America. Bcc are your true red tails, coming from Peru, Guyana, Brazil, and Suriname. Bco is from Argentina. Bcl I can't remember. I believe it's a long tailed boa. I'll look for a link that explains it better.

Yours above appears to be bci, a common boa. I would say with almost certainty that it's not a bcc. It could be a mutt, bci/bcc cross, but not pure bcc. Some bci have red tails in they're younger years, and then the colors tone down as they mature. Some keep a red tail, but nothing a rich and deep red as a true red tail.
