For that money it will be wild caught. Not entirely ideal.

Exactly. If you are looking to save money spending less is not the way to go, as you will often have to put a great deal of money in to other expenses, such as medication. Not only that, but the likelyhood of the snake dying is greatly increased. In short, if you want to spend the least amount of money, it is best to buy a well-started animal from a reputable breeder.

kill3r843:

A captive breed animal in Canada from a reputable breeder will ask $700 and up. At this price if everything is good and perfect you have very little stress and should have a great animal. When prices are $300 and lower in most cases they are WC and the saying goes you get what you pay for.

In the other forums on US classifies you will see lots of GTPs at $300 up and down, but 90% if not more are not from captive breedings so again you pay low you should expect low and complications and once you establish a good collection and you continue the process of getting cheap GTPs expect serious complications from bringing WCs - like disease and more situations that can effect your full collection.

Again its up to you buy cheap or expensive, you only get what you pay for.

Cya...

You'll might end up paying the usual price if you buy a WC animal which ends up to the vet all the time. You'll also get tons of stress and trouble for it if you get problems.

Killer,
GTP's goin price for a C.B. , correct me if I am wrong, is upwards to $400-800 dollars. Heh, I think everyone mentioned it but if you wanted a W.C. animal the expenses would climb probably to $1000 of the likely hood of the animal suffering from internal and external paracites and more than likely a whole slew of other health problems.

Just my .02 also.

You can always buy in bulk from one of the Indonesian reptile farms or exporters, or you might be able to buy someone's freezer keeper Seriously though, if you only want to spend that much on a green tree, you're not going to get much more than a green tree full of problems. You don't want to cut corners with chondros.
