TARAS Policy

In light of recent events we as the society thought that this should be posted so everyone was aware what our policy is on reptile keepers keeping and selling illegal reptiles.

We as a society do not condone the keeping or selling of illegal reptiles. It was our society who got the laws changed to what they are today, and if it was not for them, we would not have been able to keep even a corn snake or bearded dragon. We do not condone anyone keeping or selling illegal reptiles whether it be a hobbiest, or a board members.

Due to the fact that most people look up to the board members of TARAS and they are representing the reptile keepers in Alberta they especially should not be keeping or selling illegal animals. As noted if anyone is found out to be in possession, or selling animals not legal in Alberta they will be asked to leave the board.

There is no need to respond to this thread and I ask that no one does. We feel that this should be posted so everyone knows our stance. We are not posting this for anyone to comment on it, but so that everyone is aware of our intentions as a society.
