Are these scales anything to be worried about? African File Snake.

Hello all. So over the weekend I purchased an African File Snake from Outback Reptiles. I noticed some brown flakey scales on his side. I am wanting to know if this is something you all think will go away with his next shed, can be treated at home? Or should I get it treated at the vet. His belly is nice and clear which leads me to believe it is not scale rot or anything. I've included pictures of his belly and the scales in question. Thank you everyone!

Well file snakes are a little keeled, no? I've only dealt with them a couple of times and can't seem to remember.

I'm with you on the idea it's not scale rot. The belly looks good. The scales don't look broken or infected. Honestly, it looks like brown substrate stuck in them from dirt. My guess is the dryness might be from not enough humidity.
