Re: Some of our saltwater fish
I was under the impression filefish are not reef safe and rabbitfish are hit or miss. beautiful animals either way

Re: Some of our saltwater fish
Thank you (:
I am entirely new to this. The tank came with the boyfriend LOL But from what I understand, they are both hit or miss. So far, we haven't had any problems! The filefish is the most recent addition (my doing), under the condition that if he DID start nipping at important things then he'd have to go. I haven't observed any nipping, thankfully! He chows down on pellet food (but not flake), so maybe he is staying full enough to not need to mess with anything in the tank? At least, that's a common theory from what I've read lol

Re: Some of our saltwater fish
a full fish is less likely to bother the corals. and I'm assuming this tank is very large, which should "spread out" the nipping making negative impacts on coral less likely. :] just my 2 cents

Re: Some of our saltwater fish
Good looking fish! I hope to have one of those rabbitfish when I get my tank up and running. I like the look of them better than the foxface rabbitfish.

Thanks!
Lol! I haven't named the clowns.. We have two pair; the others are Snowflake. I actually don't prefer the orange ones.. I like maroon clowns the best.

I know what you mean! I'm not a fan of the foxface either.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that! I am hoping I am successful with my predator tank I'll be putting together when we move the reef to a bigger tank. I'll have help, but I'm still nervous because aquatics aren't my specialty lol

Re: Some of our saltwater fish
Nice . Hopefully the filefish doesn't eat your coral, I have heard that's one of the easier species to keep satisfied.
I did saltwater for many years before I had to move. I miss it!

Re: Some of our saltwater fish
What size tank is it? I keep angels in my reef tank and have no issues. More often than not as long as you keep them fed they will keep away from your corals. But then occasionally you get a fish that just won't take the hint lol.

Re: Some of our saltwater fish
Don't quote me, but I believe it's a 130? We just got a larger tank to upgrade to, and with the sump tank sizes and other critter tank sizes... I am not a numbers person, so they all just get jumbled in my head haha
lol yeah, I can imagine some fish are just going to wreck some stuff no matter what you do! Luckily, it doesn't appear my "Sesame" (filefish) is one of those.
