housing really quick question!!

i have a 2 year old corn named dragon fly and im gettin another corn snake which would be a female now would i be able to let them live in the same cage it is a 30 gallon tank that is coming in. so would i be able to put her in with dragon fly?????

It's not really recommended. Some people do and some people don't.

I am not sure? I have read so much and that one goes both ways? I guess if one is a boy an the other a girl you could try it but watch careful and be prepared to jump in if something happens...

wat bad things could happen aside from mating for the reason dragonfly isnt 2 years old yet and the new batch of hatchlings they got are like 3 weeks to 2 months

Your older one eating the new one, stressed, fighting, spread of disease, you not knowing who has pooped. There is plenty more but it has been said in another thread here called "baby royals together" that has more info already posted by myself and everyone else here.
Another member of this site had a close call with his corns that were housed together as well.

any way to make them adapt to each other i dont know how the boy will eat the new one i mean he isnt that big not even that wide.

it really is a personal choice, but for the snakes sake i would advise against it, im sure most of us would agree with this statment here.cages are cheep enouph to buy another for your other little buddy many many bad reasons to not house them together, can it be done, yes its been done and things worked out fine, will this happen everytime? absolutly not, how long will their be no problems? no one can say, how would you feel if on just grabbed the other one day because it was stressed out and sick and tired of the situation,and simply killed the other? but at the end of the day no one can really make you seperate them. GL

I was the guy referred to who had the issue with two corns together. they lived together from about 3 weeks old for around six months with no obvious problems. Seemed perfectly happy together for all this time.

Then one feeding day when they returned to the viv from their separate feed tubs one started chasing/harassing the other constantly so i separated them. What would had happened if they stayed together - who knows but wasnt worth the risk in my opinion.

On the other side of the argument. I have friends and contacts from other forums that have housed corns together for years with no issues whatsoever. One guy had a pair that both lived to about 20-22 years old and died within a few weeks of each other. They had been together since birth.

Searching the net and speaking to other herpers you will get lots of people saying no and lots of people saying its fine. the risk is yours to take.
