My tax return

Picked up a trio, I think they are females though. Just my luck. These guys are between 10-12 inches total length, smaller than the storri and a little bigger than kingorum. Very arboreal, not much for burrowing, not skittish at all. They are being housed in a 5x4x2 setup with 20 inches of dirt on the warm side, 10 or so on the other. The creepy dungeon is my dads basement, I'm moving soon and figured this was a better option for now.

This was before I added the furniture/substrate. Just a trough with a box on it. The enclosure on top is just something I've been messing with, probably won't get around to finishing it.

Varanus gilleni, Pygmy mulga, much much smaller than ackies and arboreal.

Just make sure your temps and humidity is right, having worked with monitor's if it's not right they will go down hill fast, monitors are a whole new ball park from snakes

Awesome pick up and ending up with three females can't be all that bad.

Re: My tax return

Awesome! I am really starting to look into monitors.. they're so primitive-seeming.

Re: My tax return

Great species! The 3rd pic looks fairly male from here, but difficult to say. Can you post more close-up pics? I have a female nesting right now.

Not even the same league as snakes.

Appreciate the concern but I paid 3,000$, I would hope I know how to set them up

Rob, I believe the one you are referencing is male as well based on head shape but he is not showing the bulges that male gilleni show at the tail base so I'm actually leaning toward .3 females at the moment.

To everyone else, thanks. Will post more pictures when I get around to it, maybe a video too

Re: My tax return

The bulges can be quite subtle depending on body condition, but you should still be able to see something at that size. Good luck! By far my favourite species.
