I have also been watching for years and the UFC has changed alot. Not to dis any Gracie or Shamrock but when it first camr out they were 1 demetional fighter ( still great fighters). But the fighters today try to learn at least 2 to 3 diffrent arts.
Tuner427 I think you are totally wrong these are only kids trying to learn the ropes of the game of course there not no Gracie etc. But this is how they get better at waht there doing. As the comment about them not able to beat the average person. Youare totally wrong the average person dosent try to be technacel they just start throwin punches the would have no chance. IMO

Jamie is dead on. These guys are all pretty good fighters, back in the early days other than the few mentioned above all they where were bar brawlers no technique nothing, it has come a long way.

Well that was quite interesting, Sam wasnt as bad as I thought he would be but Forrest caught him with a couple good knees. I thought for sure Swick had Stephan, it looked really good but he got out and that was that. If Swick let go of the cage Srephan would have had a harder time locking in the arm bar. Which would have at least went into the other round.
P.s See Josh Koscheck at the start of the show he was totally messed. Ouch

I agree, Sam wasn't that bad, he had some decent kicks. I really felt bad for Swick. He had Stephan but credit to Stephan for getting out of the gullotine. I wonder why Swick was in with the LHW when he is a MW.

Forest gets to fight! Yay!! LOL, I was hoping he would be able to fight. So did they do both the light heavy weight fights yesterday instead of splitting them into two weeks. I'll be catching it on Friday or Saturday.

Well, the MW fight went the way I figured it would, Diego took him out fast. For the LHW I was rooting for Forest, I like him, but figured that Stephon would take it. What a killer fight man, Forest I think pulled out the win by being the aggressor and controlling the fight and even managed to do a bit of visual damage to Stephon in the last round. We had already surmised by the 3rd round that both would end up with contracts, like they would toss away the money they will make on a rematch later! As for the Shamrock/Franklin fight, what a dissapointment. Shamrock can't even stay on his feet anymore, he fell twice and was out so fast.....Guess he is getting too old.

Diego dominated, I thought Kenny would have a submission advantage with his background. But we cant forget that Kenny is a natural 155er not 185.
I thought Bonner won that fight but Im glad he got the contract as well. That fight was awesome
The Shamrock fight was good but short. I was impresseed with Franklin, especially how he managed to escape two submissions.
If anyone wants to know the results of the fights that we not televised go to www.sherdog.com.

I knew Diego would win, hes a tank compared to Kenny . Aswell Diego has an awsome ground and pound game. Foresst and Stephan's fight was an all out war. I argee with Nita I figured both would end up with a contrac. Man they were both banged up pretty good. Great fight. Ken slipped two which sucked I would have liked to see alonger fight to see what would have happend. Either way Rich Franklin finished well and is a great fighter. I have seen him fight in other UFCs and hes making a name for himself.

I thought Bonner had won but was pleasantly surprised that Forest got it. I think that they gave it to Forest for being the aggressor and controling the octagon, he did lead the fight even though Bonner did more damage. It was fantastic, I'm glad they didn't push it for a 4th round, the poor guys wouldn't have made it.

Yeah it was a great show, well worth watching indeed.
I watched part of the marathon before the big show, mostly parts I missed in past weeks. Knew Diego was gonna take it way back in the beginning, but Forrest was something to watch even Stephan was amazing. Both deserved the contracts. Considering how some professional boxing either ends in forst round or it a show of hugging, UFC is way better.
Now Shamrock, what the hell. He lost to a hungry fighter indeed, but in such a short time, geez I was hoping to see a few rounds or a serious break em submission, not the 2 slips to the ground. I was hoping to see a better fight with Shamrock, but overall a good show indeed. Congrats to SPIKE as well.
