Re: Dream list picture thread!

Awww. I used to have a hedgehog.

Hubby and I were just talking about setting up a red eyed croc skink enclosure.

They typically have green bodies and bright red/orange heads with black eyes.

I have seen them at the Rocky Mountain expo in the past for decent prices. I've been so tempted to get one or two, but I can't seem to find a whole lot of information about them online so I would want to make sure I know what I'm doing before I get one.

Re: Dream list picture thread!

They like cooler environments. That's been the only reason we haven't gotten one yet.

They're illegal in Cali I'd have to go out of state to get one

I had him for about three years but I don't know how old he was when I got him. He was always under sized, though, so I'm pretty sure they weren't taking care of him properly before I got him.

His name was Smoke.

Re: Dream list picture thread!

Hedgehogs don't have a very long lifespan to begin with, unfortunately. I think the average is around 5 or 6 years.

Really? I thought it was a lot longer. Perhaps nothing was wrong with him.

Re: Dream list picture thread!

Yep. I just looked it up to double check. Apparently the maximum lifespan recorded was 9 years, but the average is 4-6.
