Re: new pics

Excellent, that was what I was aiming for. Do you think I should maintain the temperature overnight but just ensure I have a lot of hides?

Re: new pics

I would keep those temps 24/7 and give her a few hides. Just check that you still have a nice cool spot for her to hide as well.

Sorry to hear!!

Re: new pics

Just a thought with pneumonia - it isn't caused by cold necessarily. It is more of an infection than someing caused by getting cold. Cold could cause hypothermia which could lead to pneumonia because of the damage to the lungs but i dont think you can get it just from being cold??

Re: new pics

i think your right, I never had hypothermia, but i have gotten pneumonia a few times from getting the flu, and then just staying outside in the elements day after day untill it cause broncitis, then it cause pneumonia to set in later. maybe it had some RI that you didnt notice first. I got my fingers crossed everything works out and she makes a speedy recovery.

Re: new pics

Thank you everyone

Not too sure about her having an RI that's progressed, I took her to the vet the day after she started presenting symptoms. I get her out most days and hadn't noticed any changes in behavior at all, very strange indeed.

There are king cobra's, rattle snakes and all sorts of retics, burms, anaconda's and various other species available here. I was offered a green anaconda a year or so ago for $400, which is fairly cheap but if you are caught with any exotic species you can kiss your collection goodbye, your license revoked, a court date and a fine or jail time. So i would not buy any till they became legal as its far too much to lose im opinion.
do you need a license to own a snake in the u.k.???

Re: new pics

Im in Australia mate. You need a basic license for owning most python species and a advance license to own hot's and the rest of our native pythons( native to Australia, we cant keep any exotic species ) not covered in the basic.
