But what's worse is when you hold a door open for someone and they just walk past without saying Thank-you. The worst part about that ,is it's usually ppl that are old enough to know to say thank you that don't. The ones that do say thanks are usually the young kids

I agree.......I've taught my kids both to hold doors open for people, to be respectful. Yet adults will walk through a door with a 10 year old or 6 year old holding the door for them, and NOT say Thank you. This is older people too.........yet they are the ones saying kids are disrespectful these days....
I will very loudly say to my kids "Thanks for holding the door honey, it was nice of you to have respect enough to do that" making sure the ignorant person hears every word.
