my snake sits on her perch and straightens out about 1 ft and stares at people, never stargazes upside down though. i feel that unfortunately people see their snakes upright looking around and not moving and confuse it with an early onset of IBD. I hope your girl doesn't have it. It's a horrible disease that you can not cure and its the worst sight i've ever seen  makes me sad.
