Re: Favorite Mythical Creature
Actually, after watching Animal Planet :: Dragons I realized that their really could have been dragons back when dinosaurs walked the earth. They believe the they used methane gas (I think) to breathe fire. It was really interesting and entertaining to watch the series.

Re: Favorite Mythical Creature
interesting... I'm gonna have to watch that. But you would think that if that ability had evolved it would've evolved in more than just the one species and would've survived to today.

Vampires.....always. Not the pathetic twinkling vampires of the Twilight world but the bad-***, shapeshifting, ravenous, murderous vamps of Brian Lumley

I don't believe in evolution (I'm Christian), but the possibility that dragons existed is definitely there. BTW let's not get into a debate about evolution and derail the thread.

Dragons are a real possibility. Just like unicorns are possible. The Greeks never considered unicorns as mythical creatures but as real living animals.

I was wrong on the methane. The bacteria in their gut produced hydrogen, a gas that's lighter than air which enabled them to fly. This is from the site.
Quote:
Subsequently, dragons ingested inorganic minerals, such as platinum, sparking the catalytic ignition of it's gut-produced hydrogen.
