You better sell them for a lot of money. This doesn't happen very often.........ok almost never! Enjoy it, have fun with it and make a ton of money. I agree with Jeff, score one for the little guy! TB

It's great for some of the little guys to hit big like that.. some exciting.. I'm all pumped up and I have nothing to do with it LOL!!!
You guys should send a couple of pictures and a small article (The "Scoria" story) to Reptiles Magazine or something.. I think that would make a great story
Bristen.

I am the bearer of bad news....
This morph HAS been discovered before and is called a "Mocha Boa". A good friend of mine told me it was featured in an issue of Vivarium magazine, and I did a google search and came up with this:
http://www.texasreptiles.com/freaks/boa.html
Also in the google search was an interview with Jeff Ronne on kingsnake where he talked about the Mocha boa.
Still, to get even ONE of these from animals you didn't know were hets is just AWESOME!

JESS:
Beautiful litter and congrats, thanks for the price information.
KEN:
I saw that info as well and agree with you.
Right now 20k USA for a Scoria Boa aka Pink Patternless aka Mocha Boa, is out of my budget.
And 17k USA for (poss) het pair is just not happening.
Although they are beautiful still out of the budget plans.

First of all, I am not trying to offend anyone.
BUT, our boas are not mocha boas, no matter how alike they look, simply because there is almost no way that the mocha boas and mine are related. Both the origional parents of the scorias are cbb not wild caught. Also just curious, but that snake has to be around 5 years old correct? Why have there been no babys produced? also I have only been able to find the one picture of her. So technically we have proven the trait out first in the unlikely event they are the same trait. Also I have noticed that the snakes are similar but there are some differences, like the mocha female has completely patternless sides, our boas do not, they have white bellies with silver sides and have noticable diamond patterns on the sides as well, also ours have striping which is noticibly absent on the mocha boa. What I mean by this is you cannot call our boas mocha boas, because there is no proof that they are the same morph, it could turn out to be like albinos where there are two incompatable strains, or ours could turn out to be codom and the mocha is recessive, or vice versa. Also there are different strains of many color morphs that different breeders have produced, axanthic ball pythons for example, that are very similar in appearance. I do not mean to sound offensive, but I will not tolerate any one calling our boas mocha boas. They are Scoria boas, period. I wish the owner of the mocha boa as much luck as we have had, and would definatly like to see babys of that snake as well.

JESSICA:
I found this info and since its related to the topic and everyone is interested on the history and future of the Scoria Boas. Thought to add this as well. I blanked out the info as it might conflict with another forum but you can PM me if you need the contact info to reach this owner as well.
This was in the classifies section of another forum.
Hope it helps clarify the history more, on this line or related lines.

There's only one way to prove that Scoria is the same as Mocha and we all know what that is, until then all that can be said is that there are some similarities in their appearance. Calling them the same is premature to say the least.
Whether they are related traits or not though is something for their breeders to argue about, it's more or less irrelevant to anyone not involved in producing these snakes in those very first stages.
I know it wouldn't change how much I'd be willing to spend to get in on breeding that morph at the next level in the form of hets.

I think what's premature is claiming that your morph is something brand new, when it may be the exact same thing. If I suddenly produced albinos from 2 snakes that were 1% possible hets (because let's face it, you just never know how many lines have been bred into this boa), I'm not going to claim I discovered something brand new until I can prove it beyond any shadow of a doubt.
That pic of the Mocha boa may have reduced side markings, but that does NOT automatically make it a different morph. Some albino boas have tails that are so faded that they look like snows - but that doesn't make it so.
