Ah I was imagining more like 10 feet, I clearly didn't research enough yet! 6-8 feet would possibly work for us. Is it safe to say males are generally smaller than females when it comes to most snake types? Anyways, I'll have to see what happens. I'd like our youngins to grow more before committing to another! Thanks for the other breed suggestions as well, definitely something to consider. But yeah, beautiful snake

They generally do, but often times given time to grow and if fed the same way as females, they will eventually get very close to the same size or bigger than a small female. I wouldn't hedge your bets on a specific sex if your aim is a smaller snake. Although it's usually the case, there's many exceptions to the rule.

The true red tailed Boa (Boa constrictor constrictor) often attains lengths of 10' plus and boas are one of the snakes of myths and legends so this misunderstanding over size is common.
