Re: 2014 corn pairing at Elemental Exotics.
Finally! The last remaining egg just pipped. It's another little Phantom. No Blizzards for me, oh well.

Re: 2014 corn pairing at Elemental Exotics.
There were originally 26 eggs laid, 1 was a slug and then 3 went bad early in incubation. Then, unfortunately on the 14th, 1 of the 2 remaining unpipped eggs started to look sickly and I cut it open. The baby inside was nearly full term but had failed awhile before that. It was also a Phantom. So that leaves 21 babies.

Re: 2014 corn pairing at Elemental Exotics.
And here is the final baby! SxV61614-21, weighing in at a whooping 5 grams. Candled female. She has some neat patterning too.
I candled all of them the other day with the new light, there are a few that I'm quite uncertain about the results on, but first tally is 13 girls and 8 boys.

Re: 2014 corn pairing at Elemental Exotics.
As of today, 13 babies have shed and been offered their first meal, 12 ate very fast and 1 refused, number 2. Not bad odds so far!

Re: 2014 corn pairing at Elemental Exotics.
All of them have been offered food at least once now. Most have eaten twice. And there were 3 that refused their first meal but one of those just ate a boiled pink.

Re: 2014 corn pairing at Elemental Exotics.
Took some updated pictures of a number of the corn hatchlings. It was overcast today for the most part, so these were taken outside.

Re: 2014 corn pairing at Elemental Exotics.
As a very interesting note, a local friend wanted to breed his corn "pair" this year but then found out that both are actually females. So he borrowed Vash on a breeding loan even though he didn't match up very good with their genes. Well, the first clutch from one of those pairings just hatched, the female is an Anery A with unknown hets. Surprisingly, all the babies that hatched, all 20 of them, are ghosts and Anery A's! Which means that at the very least Vash is het Anery A or possibly even homo Anery A, making him a Platinum instead of the Phantom he was sold as. Making these babies either 50% het Anery or 100% het Anery.
