I'm thinking about removing Cyan and Lime from the software.

Re: Ophionyssus natricis ~ Snake Mites..
I agree but I also never said I was a nivice with reptiles!
Assumptions again.
New to this twist on FB but never asked how to care for these Boa's & little corn did I?
As i've said over & over I just wanted any suggestions on any reasons why the one Boa has gone ferrel?
I get care sheets & bad husbandry when he isn't in with another snake just WAS.
Put him in quiet place & destress... Der that's where he was when I joined this site!
No useful idea's just basic Boa care????
You'd be shocked if you knew!
But this has to go public! I can think of several reasons that aren't to do with basic lack of care why this poor boy might have changed like this!!
Expected some of you to as well!

Re: Ophionyssus natricis ~ Snake Mites..
I agree the bright colours are a little annoying. Perhaps VWBabe, for the sake of calming everyone's nerves a little, you might consider just sticking to calmer colours from now on?
However, this particular biocontrol seems at least interesting for the treatment of mites. Im not saying I know anything more than what the website talks about, which isnt much, but it seems to be worth a further look. Having said all that, Prevent a Mite works exceptionally well and seems to have no negative effect on the reptile, so I would still recommend it over any other cure at this point.

Re: Ophionyssus natricis ~ Snake Mites..
By posting you "need to know as much as possible as soon as" will make most people think that you have mites whether they have read your other thread or not. If you were just interested in predator mites and how effective they are then maybe you should have worded your first post a bit better. There is no point in flaming people who have made a wrong assumption due to you not being clear, lots of people have been very helpful to you in your other thread who may not now offer to your their vast knowledge [/QUOTE]
I would have been clear & said I have a mite problem {& that it might be the reason for Boa being as he is, even}
But 'I've got a deadline to meet' didn't seem to be needed when I was enquiring about feedback on a particularly amazing reptile product....
Which one of your expert members has accused me of fabricating!!!
OMG

I'm not an expert and I never accused you of fabricating it which makes me think you're fabricating it.

Re: Ophionyssus natricis ~ Snake Mites..
From the website, it looks to be a specific type of predator mite, though it appears to be a specially bred one. I'm not sure if that is true or just hype on the website though. They seem to be rather opaque about it, but that could just be due to translation. The website is from France, as the product appears to be also.

I'd probably rub the nix treatment on and avoid spraying. From what everyone told me on my post it can cause neuro damage or even be fatal.

I don't know, maybe but the snakes come from more your way so these bugs would too, so would have thought this way of dealing with mites would be common practice in US ect?

I doubt people with large collections want to infest everything with more mites and the price is really expensive compared to PAM/Reptile relief.

Re: Ophionyssus natricis ~ Snake Mites..
it didn't for me, nix treatment is safe for human babies and its been diluted every 2 ozs with a gallon of water. I sprayed infact I sprayed him in replace of misting everyday for 7 days haven't seen a crawly since and I keep a nix spray bottle with the mixture for any new boas coming in so I don't have the problem again lol
are you saying again that the snakes have bugs there babe?? just clarifying?

Nope, I have read a few posts over the years about predator mites, but apparently the tried and true methods require insecticides.
