Re: Hygrometer brands
I use a HygroTherm, serves my purposes right now, but been looking to upgrade. I'll have to check out those posted above. I'd like somethin' that can control 5 shelves and three separate temps. Ideas?

Re: Hygrometer brands
Why didn't it come with batteries :'(
Also, how do I attach it to glass?

Re: Hygrometer brands
Silicone or hot glue the base to the glass. Ya, the lack of batteries sucks, but its such a nice hygrometer that you get over it quickly.

I tried aquarium sealer but that failed... mainly because I'm a loser and got tired of holding it.

Re: Hygrometer brands
Ha! Well that is a problem. Just kidding. If you prop something underneath it so that it can dry overnight, or at least for a few hours, then you dont have to hold it. The hot glue will dry quicker, so give that a shot if its easier.

Re: Hygrometer brands
Is hot glue gonna be easy to take off?
Good thing I didn't attach it yet. I have to do a salt test.

Re: Hygrometer brands
For hot glue removal just slide a razor blade in behind the glue and you can pop it off.

Re: Hygrometer brands
It wont be as easy to take off, no. You can get one of those razor scrapers though and itll 'pop' with enough pressure from underneath. The silicone is definitely easier to get off

Re: Hygrometer brands
Ok. I don't mind if it's gonna take a little effort as long as it comes off the tank completely in case my parents end up taking for fish when I upgrade

Re: Hygrometer brands
How do I reset these? I'm not sure that I understand the manual completely.

Re: Hygrometer brands
You have to take all the batteries out of all of the units, then replace them one at a time as each one registers with the 'home' unit.

This will make them read correctly if they're off?
I started the salt test about 7-8 hrs ago, and this is what's happening so far...

Re: Hygrometer brands
Oh sorry, you mean calibrating them. Actually sorry, I don't have the manual here and mine were pretty much dead on so I never had to calibrate them (well they were just over a percent off, but that was close enough for me). Sorry, but I can't be much help there.
