Re: Oops, I bought a Skink...
She hadn't been eating or drinking which didn't concern me as she's very new still... but today, I offered her a piece of my cooked/unseasoned chicken breast and she chased my tongs around the tank, haha. After she had a few pieces, she washed it down with some water.
I guess salads with caterpillars and crickets aren't good enough. She needs the expensive meats. lol

Adoreable! I've had mine for 12 years now, and he's still probably one of my favorite reptile pets I've had. You won't regret it. And they are the easiest to care for and the hardiest healthwise by far.

Re: Oops, I bought a Skink...
Aw, I love blue tongue skinks~! There not as popular as I wish they where, in my opinion I don't see why they can't be the next breaded dragon. But maybe that's just me.
Awesome cage by the way.

Re: Oops, I bought a Skink...
Him? Eating? HAH! lol
They're sort of hard and plastic-y. I think he'd have a hard time tearing off a piece of the aloe vera. The flower is made from a cloth-like fabric and hard to tear. Plus he never wants to eat anyway. Especially not vegetation. lol He only seems to be interested in eating insects and incredibly expensive chicken breast (I offered it as a snack and he went nuts lol)

Ah, I thought the flower was real and didn't know if it was safe or not. Haha.

Re: Oops, I bought a Skink...
Hey, so as of yesterday I am on a list for an american breeder to get one of his babies that he is having this year. It is going to be a Northern Blue tongue skink and I am supper excited. How big is the vivarium that you have, based on gallons because I am ignorant to anything else at the moment.
I looked up the breeder on a blue tongue skink forum and will take caution when I am going to buy it. But for anyone interested he is going to have around 40 babies between the end of this month (may) and next month (june). He only has nine people, including myself, on the list.
Can you tell me the pro's and cons of having a blue tongue? So far all I see is the pro's to them! They are amazing. Also since I am getting a baby some of the trials that you have gone through?
