great pics, I need to go out and find some areas to go herping this spring once it warms up. The areas I used to go got plowed for new housing developments.

OKay the third picture from the top...what snake is that??
If you mean the third photo down in my first post of the snake coiled in the tree roots, that is a very large and gravid adult female eastern garter snake.
Totally cool pictures. If you really want to find copperheads in PA, Ohiopyle State Park in southwestern PA is overrun with them. Of course that is a long way from where you live.
