Re: If money was no object, which snake would you buy?
If money was no object, I'd smuggle a san francisco garter snake over here.
Not.

If money was no object, I would buy a few hundred acres of their natural habitat range and move there.
Now THAT would be very legal.

Re: If money was no object, which snake would you buy?
Besides the initial cost of housing (800$) if you don't make it yourself Annies are relatively inexpensive to buy, about 120-200 for the animal unless you want a morph and feeding isn't bad either, a rabbit every 2 weeks, about 20$ a month on food tops.
Less if you use Kijiji to find any free unwanted cats and dogs (jk)

Yeah well the housing is only part of what prevents me from getting one. They're not legal in Iowa. I can only wish.

I'm pretty easy, a Palmetto would be nice...but I would LOVE one of these:
New Guinea (other side of Irian Jaya) Jaguar by Anthony Caponetto. They grow up to be some INCREDIBLE bright-yellow snakes (check out the one named "Yahoo")...they look venomous they're so bright!
