I've had guildies pay my account so I could make raids (when I would raid lead), I've had people pay my account in exchange for 1800 rating in WOTLK for arena weapons. I've had people pay for it in exchange for me doing games with them in arenas etc.
Lots of reasons

Re: MMO fans.
Between carrying in arenas, auction raids, carrying for titles like herald, immortal and whatever that Toc10 title was and merchantalism, I had more money then I would ever need. It took time to build up, but in the end I thought it was worth it. Built a great set of friends and had a blast.

Re: MMO fans.
Funny how complete strangers become great friends sometimes Gaming can bring people together the same way any other hobby can, snakes, football, drinking, you name it.

Re: MMO fans.
I was a Heroes of Newarth player for awhile and recently have become addicted to LoL.
Summoner spells and the runes/masteries concept make it a lot more fun game. Even if I don't like the visual style as much.
Same name on there, Kiljosh. Hit me up if you wanna roll people.

Re: MMO fans.
Ohgod, we're talking WoW here. I recently took a break, still am on break, but I've played since '04.
Not much of a PvPer, though. I was back in vanilla... Man, that was the stuff. Afterwards it was just... whatever. lol~
Anywho, 85 Combat/Assassin Rogue, 83 Frost/Blood DK, 85 Holy/Prot Pally, 70 Feral(DPS/Tank) Druid, 78 BM Hunter, and several others between 30 - 60. Got bored while leveling the hunter and took a break.
And I play girls all the time, with the exception of my one male worgen mage, and I'm not a guy. :l
PS: I failed to read the whole thing, just kinda skimmed. I play LoL, AP Monarch Kog'Maw. Nephthyri is the name.
PPS: I also play SC2... FOR THE ZERG! Lilicae is the name, I'd tell you my number to add me, but I forgot and need to update. I don't play that often, but I love Nexus Wars. Always up for somethin' else, though, so give me a ring if you want to start somethin'.

Awwww! Zerg are the masters of everything, though!
Naw, I'm just foolin'. I personally love Zerg, but Protoss are my second favs. Not a fan of Terrans.
I'm not all that great. I've had a few great plays, studied on strategy, but it's hard to master with zerg units, and hard to get through some typical obstacles opposing teams throw your way.
Example, a common issue I have is a protoss opponent putting a ton of photon cannons outside my base. So, I build up an awesome roach unit, go to invade, and then they get blasted to death by canons. It's so annoying </3
There was one awesome attack I launched though. Mutalisks are mainly used as pests, picking off workers, etc. Well I got a large group of 'em and entirely demolished the enemy based. Naturally, I picked off all the workers I could. Still had some left, killed the other buildings. lol~

Yeah that cannon rush build sucks :P My brother loves zerg. I usually void ray rush. A little cheesy but not too much. It usually works too unless they have a lot of hydralisks.
