ummm well we have been talking about hook training there must be more to it then just tapping them on the head with a stick, so what I am asking is is what else is there

For the most part, hook training is more about setting a routine then anything else.
Whenever you feed the animal you get the food item and toss it in the enclosure and close it asap, never involving the hook, the snake understands no head tap = maby food and the smell does the rest.
Hook training means using the hook to break the feeding response every time you want to take the snake out, work in the enclosure or anything that doesn't involve food. It doesn't take them long to figure it out.
