Re: Meet Chomper - Our Savannah
I would give anything to have the space for one, although my other half would not be impressed.. Tried to warm him towards Tegus and still no dice

Re: Meet Chomper - Our Savannah
Go to www.varnyard-herps.com They've got a bunch of tegu videos showing just how tame they get. Show your better half the videos, they're full of tegus begging for attention like dogs.

Re: Meet Chomper - Our Savannah
Took Chomper outside for a while today...
Silly lizard ate a whole bunch of Japanese beetles and a live crayfish from the creek.
Then got wicked mad when we brought him back in the house.

Re: Meet Chomper - Our Savannah
he was still hunting beetles.
It was cool watching him chomp that big crayfish, then he even ate the claws!
Chomp loves it out back, I just wish I could build him a huge pen out there and let him roam more freely.

Re: Meet Chomper - Our Savannah
it flakes off in chunks... That's normal for most lizards.

Re: Meet Chomper - Our Savannah
Living in Texas, you could build an outdoor enclosure easy enough.
Just make sure you dig down about 3 feet and pour a slab, then put the dirt back.
