it takes me for ever to get it to eat f/t
only once did he take it and it was because obviously he would not eat f/t when he was there and said he would eat it. and know i tred a jumbo adult mouse and he ate it the minute i got it in the got and it moved around, also would it be better to give it a place to eat instead of the acual enclosure?not once did he not take live and only once did he take f/t and it was because he was starving/ i dont want to starve m snake to make it eat one meal. any way tomorrow is his feeding so i will hop to have a reply. i also dont want to have to force feed my snake it is very stess ful for the snake and me, i have not done it with my boa but i have with m corn snake who would take anything put in its mouth ( most of the time)
and whats eqal to a adult mouse (rat wise) because i dont want to start of 2 big!

It is best to put the snakes in a 'feeding box' during feeding time, which is just a simple box with no substrate and large enough for the snake to obviously move around. Give your snake time; if he has eaten f/t before thats great, though you should have not gone back to live prey. One of these days your snake is probally going to be seriously injured by one of these rodents during feeding, and it will be something you regret. Snakes can go a very long period of time with out food (though not healthy), you need to get him on a f/t diet. Wouldnt you want the best for your snake?

Ok look, if you don't have the time or patience to do your boa a favor and do what is best for him then don't talk about getting other snakes. When someone says something like "it takes me for ever to get it to eat f/t" makes me put them on the 'I will never buy anything living from them' list. If he took it once then he will take it again, also this so-called boa is only 1 month old...there should be NO talk about force feeding. This is ludacris...how long did you "starve" your snake if he is a month old??? LOL. You need to take a break and read about these animals which you have not done if you are asking all these questions:
"also would it be better to give it a place to eat instead of the acual enclosure?"
"whats eqal to a adult mouse"
"And a want a answer to what is best for me"
"but would a 8 x 3 x 3 foot cage to big?"
"well one day he was regurgitating water and i call the vet andhe said it was normal so i belleived him next day the snake was dead"
This is a great place to learn but these are questions a RESPONCIBLE animal owner should already know! How can anybody take you seriously or even try to help if these are the questions you are asking after 8 so-called years of experience...and who lets a 3 year old have snakes of there own?
Start reading and be patient...if you don't have the patience to help your animal then everybody is going to know you are a typical irresponcible snake owner who needs to mature. And your quote "Never question a reptile. They know best" is not the truth...

i didnt know that the snake in question was only a month old. if this is the case then there is NO WAY that you are starving this boa. give it some time. my friend has a ball python that was eating f/t just fine then went off feed for 8 months before he ate again(not that this is healthy but the snake didnt die).

you shouldnt even be thinking of getting a bigger snake at your age!!!!!!! Im 21, 6'6 and 250 pounds and i find it a little bit of a hand full when im helping some of my herp friends with there burm's and retic's, and would really like to know where your getting these dimensions from because they are way to big( get a tape measure and measure out 25 feet i can guarantee you dont really realize how big that really is!!)Stick with a ball python

my corn snake would sometimes go into a quick shedd and its eyes didnt turn blue.
when my boa doesnt eat for some reason could it be that its in a shedd but doesnt have the blue eyes. or is it that it is not hungrey or some thing.
Would freshly killed be better than f/t because it still has the strong scent????

and whats eqal to a adult mouse (rat wise) because i dont want to start of 2 big!
i have feed live to my boas before one live aand the other f/t the one that ate live grew faster and had alot nicer skin which i care alot about because that is the o9nly way I can see if something was wroung.. but then it was only a year of comparison because the one died from a tumor in the tachea and i didnt want to have to spend 100's and find out it doesn live! so i put her down.

DO you think it matters if it is live or frozen/thawed? A mouse is a mouse is a mouse, have you ever eaten a steak that was frozen at one point? A steak is a steak...a mouse is a mouse and a rat is a rat...because you believe live is best what are you gonna do when it eats large rats/rabbits? Switch it then...come on. Stop with all the stories about the snake had better skin when it ate live. Listen to what people say or shut it...you can't ask a question that you already think you have the answer to...because all your doing is arguing with everybodies input. Do more reading and less posting for a while...these questions you are asking have been posted 100's of times...put some time in and find them!

Dude, seriuosly you need something you can handle.A rectic or any other large snake is (in my own opinon) too much for you to handle right now.I have a bci, bp, and corn snake.Bci are really fun to have.As far as an enclosure size,i'm building a 5x3x2 enclosure for my bci. That will be plenty of room for him.If you want to get something bigger as far as a snake and a cage do so when your a little older.

K.
sorry to cause you guys all the trouble. its just that well my mom hates snakes and she didnt even really want me to get a boa methier did my dad. he suggested to get a ball python but i told him that they were trouble feeders which is all i have heard is that they are troble feeder finicky will only eat if it has the exact everything wereas boas are thetype f snakes that will eat anything readily and he takes f/t but only if i constantly jiggle it around. and as i have said that he takes a live once it starts moving. and by the way i heard that it is easier to get them on f/t when they are adults, is that true
