What about the way movies and television influence kids??? Do you turn off your TV when something that could have a negative influence on people comes on?? Its not ONLY Rap that has a negative influence on people, however i doubt that you give up on EVERYTHING else that does, like you did a genre of music.. Your avatar alone could lead kids to believe that shooting guns is cool
"So who's bringin the guns in this country?
I couldn't sneak a plastic pellet gun through customs over in London
And last week, I seen a Schwarzaneggar movie
where he's shootin all sorts of these m/f'ers with a uzi
I sees three little kids, up in the front row,
screamin "Go," with their 17-year-old Uncle
I'm like, "Guidance - ain't they got the same moms and dads
who got mad when I asked if they liked violence?"
And told me that my tape taught 'em to swear
What about the make-up you allow your 12-year-old daughter to wear?
So tell me that your son doesn't know any cuss words
when his bus driver's screamin at him, messin' him up worse"

Punk, Hardcore etc.
Agnostic front, The Dead Kennedys, The Misfits, The Cramps, Sisters of Mercy, Godflesh, Judge, Thrill Kill Cult, Minor Threat, Sick of it All, Judge, The Ramones, Black Flag, etc.
I am not fond of new punk, mostly stuff from the 80's
Jazz

Misc.
The Smiths, The Cure, Sloan, Coldplay, The Cowboy Junkies - Only The Trinity Session, etc.

I listen to a lot of stuff. My favorite bands are The Cure, Bauhaus, Marilyn Manson, Nile, Zyklon, Slayer, Cradle of Filth, Dead Can Dance, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Taking Back Sunday, Saetia, From Autumn to Ashes, Social Distortion, Dead Boys, NY Dolls, The Cramps, the list can go on for days. I can jam to just about anything, though

I like music that involves "musical" talent. If the musicians had to practise for years to get as good as they are...I might like it. If it's some untrained "singer" yelling or "spouting off" into a microphone...I won't like it. If it appears that all the musicians are playing the same song, at the same time...I might like it. If the music can be reproduced by real people without some sort of electronic manuipulation...I'll like it all the more.

rap, blues, jazz, reggae, classical... pretty much everything, but country. i do like blue grass though. the reason i like blue grass is because i can never stop laughing at those guys. blue grass is the funniest music in the world. the o brother where art thou

JustinO: I really like your taste in music...there's a few bands that you listed that I don't recognize, but, I thought I'd download a few to check them out.

Alright, I enjoy...
AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel, Van Halen, Deep Purple, Twisted Sister, Black Sabbath, Credence Clearwater Revival, Lynard Skynard
Could probably keep going but at risk of boring the short attention span punk rockers, I'll just stop!
Oldies rock!
