I was thinking about that earlier. I am probably going to buy a freezer (the deep ones that people sometimes have in their garages or basements) specifically for rodents. That's my mom's least favorite part of me having snakes anyway lol

With how quickly you're acquiring animals, a separate deep freeze for snake chow is probably a good investment. I have a small chest freezer for that purpose. Also, a lot of places that I've looked into for ordering frozen do a box system. In other words, you can mix and match types and size of food until you've filled a box. And only have to pay shipping for that one of box. I've already done the math on this awhile back; store being the most expensive food source, expos (at least in my area) middle ground price wise, and online the cheapest even after calculating shipping. It's a large one time cost but when you consider that $300 spread over a 12 month period is like nothing.

just trying to keep things in perspective:
youre buying 100+$ of feeders- with possibly nowhere to put them as yet
you're thinking of buying a freezer specifically for snake food- 300$? min? less if craigslist
youre thinking of getting a Dums, who will also need to be eating larger prey of a different size; bump up your food bill +50$, and you will need housing for it, thermostat, hides etc.... Lets say 100$ MINIMUM if the old owner cuts you a deal?

I am ASSUMING your existing collection is all caught up on permanent, adult enclosures? with thermostats etc?

Honestly: I think your best investment of time and money in this situation is to save up to buy your own vehicle, so you can attend expos, potentially get more hours at work, buy cheaper feeders and cage accessories, and snakes THEN (not now).
seriously sit down and evaluate your budget before going further with this.

Not bad pet store pricing! I have 100 large mice and 50 small mice on the way for $96. Got lucky and got a $10 off online coupon.

For anybody interested: I bought a 5.3 cubic foot freezer from SEARS for $170. Not on sale, that is the price. Huge. I have about 200 frozen rats large, medium, and xl and it takes up less than half of the freezer.
