Not calling any shots here... Just having a discussion about it.

Re: December Photo Contest DISCUSSION
The whole idea is a nightmare waiting to happen.
So who picks up the shipping bills?
Health issues, blaming mite infestations on "prize" animals???
Too many variables for me to feel comfortable attaching the forum's name to it.

Alessia is a lot better at keeping a schedule than I am.. So I let her handle the contest.
I will be late for my own funeral....

If there was some real depth of knowledge we would have discussions that drew people. As it is now the forum is more known for catering to noobs and pretty shallow knowledge.

We school primary through PHD here. (really true if you think about it. We have folks with their first snake all the way up to PHD biologists as members)
You are a senior, stop picking on the first graders.
Be a teacher's aide and not a lunch line bully.

Re: December Photo Contest DISCUSSION
I say have a prize but no prize animal evaluate then you don't have to worry about all the variables of having a live animal as a prize.

I was pretty ignorant when I joined a year ago Wayne. ought I knew stuff but I did not know a quarter of what I thought I did. I learned most of what I know here and then I expanded on it in my chosen species by hands on experience and finding people who were solid and knowledgeable.
Anyone here can do the same they just have to want to learn. Things are quite different now then they were a year ago.
Also my last comment wasn't meant to be negative. It just seems most of the threads revolve around non feeders, bad shed/ why are my snakes eyes blue and mites.

Re: December Photo Contest DISCUSSION
and sometimes people here make me think "simmer down kids"
Honestly, some of the arguments lately remind me of trying to tell a 13 year old how long it will take to walk six miles to see a friend.
No matter what the damn world record land speed for a human may be, that kid will swear it can be done in half the time.
