Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python

So I tried feeding the WLP yesterday and she struck at the mouse over and over even coiling and releasing it, but not eating it. The last time it coiled on the mouse, it didnt release so obviously the mouse died but she didnt eat it. So I left the mouse in her cage overnight and this morning the mouse is still there. Ive only had her since Monday and I didnt find out when they fed her last... Im not too worried but I wanted to see if any of WLP owner ever have problems feeding.

I don't have a wlp but inop i would not feed live ft is just as good and safer for the snake.
Just my opinion there are some that live feed.

As for feeding again give it 5/7 days then try again but is probably just a little stressed from the move and the handling.

Also what about quarantine I see over tanks below..

you got me there, I didn't even think about that. I just brought her home and set her up.

Quarantine is the most important thing to remember when you bring a snake home if you have other snakes I really hope that everything is going to be OK otherwise you might pay dearly.

I kind of had respect for you.

Now you've lost it. Purely based on the fact you haven't gotten this snake to eat yet and you've been messing around with handling.

I thought you actually had this animal for awhile before making that video. Selfish keepers.

Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python

On the feeding i would give it a week with no handling. Let her settle in then try again. As for striking, killing and not eat my use to do it about every other time i fed. So i started just feeding every two weeks and he eats every time. Unless in shed.

Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python

Dearest Aaron, as your first statement rips through my heart and shatters my emotions, I continue to breath and live happily

Even though I know your personal feeling toward me should be something meaningful, it really doesn't affect me. Call me cold blooded - I might need that temp regulator fixed or something

On the other -more valuable- hand, Mark. I truly appreciate your advice, I will follow it.

I dont believe in setting all these strict procedures of not handling before it feeds deal... Will my snake die? Nope.
Is it going to eat? yes, probably next week.
Will it be ok after all? absolutely.

I am not by any means an "expert" (like probably confident and assertive Aaron is... :/), but I am not new to keeping snakes, and in my past experiences the problems that arise, quickly get handled and fixed. Whatever the case may be of my selfishness, I ultimately care for these animals A LOT.

But since I am a gentleman, here goes this:
Aaron, Thank you for your kind words, I assure you they will be ignored in the order it was received. Have a beautiful rest of your day/night.

Mark, thanks for the positive criticism. I will absolutely consider your advise. Thank you.

Sweet! this is what I plan to do actually. Im not going to touch her for a week - except for temp readings (her enclosure is new, and the weather is changing here in ridiculous ways). And I will try again next week.

As I understand, WLPs are very finicky. So my question is, do you feed your in its enclosure?

Im used to removing all my animals for feeding.

The guy who use to have him use to feed in a different container. Most the time he wouldn't eat. I have always fed in the cage and he seems to do a lot better with it. I believe it makes it a lot more stress free for him so he eat better. My guy if anything stress him before feeding he won't eat. Plus he very finicky i am still working on trying to get him to take a F/T.

As much as I appreciate that you will take my advise and consider it I do think you are making a mistake in throwing away aaron s criticism of they way you do things.

I would not feed live food as it could damage your snake ft is much safer imo.

Like I said already its not eating because its stressed and has no routine if you choose live over ft when you want to switch to ft it will take more time.

You're cute.

Don't say in one post that you know snakes then in the next show your true noobiness.

In one you try to come off like everything is hunky dory. In the next you admit to this species being finicky and that any handling has been a mistake to undertake at this time. You fix this by saying you'll stop handling now, after you've encountered the problem. I guess preventive care is a lost art.

Is it so hard to just do the right thing from the start? Oh I guess not because you're not "new".

Anyway, feed in the enclosure. It won't hurt your snake. I'd like to see you take the 6 foot white lip out for feeding when it's older.

Also, your snake is ticked off by the prey item. That's why it's striking and not doing anything else. You've been pissing it off by bothering it so much so it just wants to be left alone.

Cool Re: Heres another video of the White Lipped Python

Thanks Ill tell my girl you think I'm cute.... Noobiness? hehe, you're a child.

Check this out guy. I'll post more videos and comments. If you have constructive criticism, it is welcomed. If not, it is also welcomed. Its entertaining. Im sure you're the toughest Canadian around, but I don't want to bicker with you, I might drown in my sea of wrong and sorrow.

Anyways, Im not holding her for a week due to the fact that she's not eating. The last two lines you finger smacked in actually offer some advice. Keep it coming, its welcomed. I never said you were wrong, you are right and Im swimming in a sea of wrong.

Share your knowledge not your ****** attitude. I can sit here all day and write you, or I can go ride my Ducati I southern California weather. I think ill go with B.

Again, have a wonderful day full of awesomeness BYE BYE!
