woah...im not sure you were accused of squishing him. it is a very unusual lesion. i think we were trying to understand what could have happened. i'm sorry you're going to have to euthanize the snake. it sucks. you might want to have the vet do a necropsy on the snake so you can inform the breeder of what happened. if you can, please post back what you find out. and again, i'm sorry that you have to go through this.

You still haven't said what part of Canada you are located... If it is Toronto there a several reptile vets... I believe the one at Victoria Park and Kingston is highly recommended... I'll try to get more info for you tomorrow at work (co worker worked at a vet).

He is very well cared for. He came to me under weight. That is one of my reasons for picking him. All my others are in very good health. He is going to be put down. I don't want to but it is what it is. I only came on here to see if any one would know what was going on. As for the have patience with me. I don't like forums. I don't know how to use them nor like to. This person is the one who set me off.

I'm sorry if people take this to heart. However, I will not justify $$$ for $. therefore no questions asked they will put him down.
I love all my reptiles however people need to think with their head not their heart.
I know vets that deal with horses, dogs, cats and even ferrets. I finally found a vet that will put him down for a price.

I did not say it did happen. But I'm not convinced it's not a possibility because, as I said, people sometimes lie, especially when they've made a dire mistake.

If you'd taken him to a vet when it showed up instead of leaving it to get worse and then getting on the internet to complain, maybe something could have been done - or at least he could have been put down before having to suffer like this. (Hence the comment about you saying to have patience with you.)

I can be online looking up info. because there is nothing I can do. He is going to be put down. What do you want me to do. Take him out back and deal with it tonight. So ya if he is in pain it will have to be for one more night. You may like to deal with it right then and there but I will not. As for not doing anything sooner. the signs were not there. he was eating normal. everything was normal. he was up to a good weight. There was very little things that I noticed that other people could not. So yes I question things. However at the time I was working on putting weight on him. I have picturse of him with no sign of any problems. Anyways. his future has been writen. looking @ the time he has looked like this for 24 hrs. so yes he will have to do one more night because I will not talk him out back and end it for you.

When did I say anything about killing him yourself? I said you should have taken him to the vet when you first noticed this so that this could be avoided, not waited until it looked like this and then getting on the internet. And for emphasis:

I'd be very interested to see the cause of this too. Never heard of or seen such a thing in reptiles.

So sorry that you'll have to put down your BP.. Hope nothing like that ever happens to you, or another reptile keeper in the future.

Don't let other people set you off in this forum and any others you might use, that'll just make you not want to be apart of it for much longer. You're actually the second member EmbraceCalamity has set off, the first one now rarely posts on this forum. I wouldn't pay mind to what "it" has to say.

Looks like a huge dent in the snake.

It literally looks like someone took a fist-sized rock and dropped it on it, and the snake stayed like that. The spine's all collapsed in. It's actually pretty disturbing, so be thankful you didn't see it.
