I'm hearing a lot of mixed reviews. A lot of people say it scratches way too easily and it stains. Some people say it doesn't. I'm not going to spend a bunch of money on something I'm just going to have to replace in a few years.

On top of that, I have a bird and I have dart frogs, so I cannot use ANYTHING oil or chemical based to treat or clean the floors. My options are pretty much a vinager and water solution, a bleach and water solution, or Simple Green.

I have a dog and a boyfriend and nieces and nephews....so many things have spilled or been brought up on this floor and nothing has ever stained or marked it like that (our floor is dark though). It is in a very high traffic area and isn't showing any wear. For cleaning it is not recommended to use chemicals. I have an H2O mop and it is amazing.

I have, and I REALLY love the look of cork floors, however I haven't heard ANY good reviews about cork with kids and dogs. What I have heard is that if you put heavy furniture on it for a while, it will show dents when you move it. I have also heard that if you spill something on it it will absorb and stain, and even possibly smell. I've also heard that you can't slide on it.

The most important thing to remember with flooring is you get what you pay for regardless if you go hard wood, bamboo or laminate.
Good flooring is made to take a beating, cheap floor is just that cheap and will fall apart within a few years.
Totheend I'm sure you must have purchased good quality for it to be lasting so well.

Zoo Nanny is correct, no matter what material you choose, quality is the most important thing. We have "original" hardwood in some of our house and that stuff is indestructible! I wish they made it like they used to.
