Your asking the million dollar question. Your safe with saying common boa. Realistically there are very few pure red tails in the trade. True red tails are larger and heaver bodied and generally have vivid distinct markings and dark maroon or red tail marking with distinct black outlines. Most of the morphs in the trade are Central American or Columbian in orgin. If you want to see a true BCC, look at the Suriname Red Tails. They tend to also be trickier to keep, higher humidity and some times picky eaters, and respond poorly to stress.
