Glad you like it though. All that matters.
He wasn't so browned out when I picked him up about a week ago, I think he may be starting a shed because his eyes are getting a little foggy.

Re: New ball python

Dan; definitely an A- pastel. Still young, will most likely brown out, but you've got a great looking baby.

That shot is about 3 months old. He is about a year old in the shot. We have no intentions of breeding him. He is a great pet. Just took his first feeding break. Ate yesterday for the first time since September. Actually all of my males started back on feed this week

Back to the thread. I actually like the look of normals or pastels like the ops. I have seen some awesome normals. Maybe I am alone on this??

Re: New ball python

Nice pet, but for breeding stock always go direct to a breeder so you can have a pick from the litter..

They took in my boa that had ri and let me pick a low end bp that they did breed so I'm happy about it.

If I were to breed this guy in the future to another normal with reduced pattern would I be able to make one with even less patterning?

Probably not. There isn't much less to lose. Try for it though. Keep breeding until you get super thin bands or something. It will take a few generations though.

I want to try him with another reduced pastel but I won't be selling the babies only giving them away to friends or people interested in their first snake. I also won't be breeding for awhile and it'd only be a hobby as I have no plans in ever starting up a business. The place I got him from said he's most likely starting a shed which is why he's so dark but if he doesn't lighten up ill ask them about it as they said this is a $150 snake.

That's because you paid...wait for it...a PET SHOP PRICE.

From breeders, it's worth $100 bucks on a super good day at that size.

If he's starting a shed he'll be dark for a bit then lighten up some. I highly doubt he'll be as bright as Terranaut's.

I only paid 100 for the boa I traded in for the bp and they said that the bp is worth 150 but I didn't have to pay anymore for it. I'm hoping he's in a shed but either way they took the boa off my hands even with ri and gave me a healthy snake so I can't complain.
