Re: New Super Dwarf Retics - Platinum and Anery

I LOVE your taste in snakes. Really glad you joined the site.

My fav in this thread is that Plat Superdwarf.

I heard the Platinum gene is huge, any idea how big that snake will get?

Re: New Super Dwarf Retics - Platinum and Anery

This snake was bred with a pure SD retic female who was 6' at the time of breeding. The male was on the smaller side as a platty retic (can't remember exact size at the moment but I believe he said around 10'). Due to it being 50% mainland, and the fact its a female, I'm expecting it to still reach a solid 10 ft. The platty gene doesnt do much for over all size that I'm too aware of, but I do know that the tiger gene causes animals to grow larger and seemingly faster for some reason which is why most of those monster female tics out there seem to be tiger! My male 50% SD Tiger who is 6 years old is already pushing 9' himself. If you haven't check the link in my signature, lots more pretties there :-)

Re: New Super Dwarf Retics - Platinum and Anery

I'm probably going up to Travis's later today, I'll try and get some macro shots of his pure SDs if I can. Platty doesn't really do a whole lot for size, the ones that I've seen are Tiger, Clark white, and the Sulawesi locality.

I'm a sucker for Platinum...

Re: New Super Dwarf Retics - Platinum and Anery

Thanks! It's appreciated. I have big plans for most of these snakes with multi gene work ups down the line that I do not believe have been done before (mostly in super dwarf). Right now I have my eyes set on to main ones: Super Platty (Ultra ivory) Anery 75% Super Dwarf F2, and Tiger Platinum Anery 75% Super Dwarf! Fingers crossed I should hit these in the next 4-5 years :-)

Re: New Super Dwarf Retics - Platinum and Anery

Got the pictures, some of them were a little sketchy to get because they were hungry SDs and Jamps and the males are ready to breed, so they're not in the best mood now.

Lol, yeah my male SD adult is rearing to breed. . . rubbing hard lately, but he's in shed right now so it has him under control for the time being.

Here is a shot of my Pure Anery Super Dwarf Retic. Finally was able to get him to sit very still by leaving him on some glossy paper with a heater underneath of it. He decided it was best to stay put, and I finally got shots!

Don't feel the need to start a new thread - so I'm adding this one from yesterday. This is my Adult 50% SD Tiger, Poss het albino, Probable het anery. He's pushing 9 ft, and is a beast! Love this guy, he literally glows fresh out of a shed :-)
