I am going to take a wild guess and say it's not a coral snake but a scarlet snake..

It should. I've just never seen a picture of a coral, be it a hatchling or an adult with those kinds of markings so it makes me wonder. It's not exactly banded.

I could be wrong and probably am. I'm curious to what more experienced venomous keepers say.

Thanks all for the interest in my snake.
I have been doing much research regarding my snake. The Herpetologist at the Houston Zoo and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department have reviewed my pictures and all agree it is definitely a Texas Coral snake. It appears that the target pattern on my snake is an aberration of the normal banding pattern. This target pattern has been seen before but only with a few bands affected. Never has there been a snake with all bands affected. This is a one of a kind Coral Snake.
It is indeed a dangerous snake and a bite can be deadly if not treated with antivenin.
I will not be keeping the snake.

Update

I have gifted the snake to the Houston Zoo. If it is a male, it will be paired with a known egg laying female and we will see what develops. The snake will spend 90 days in quarantine before being placed on display. I will post again if and when it becomes a parent. Thanks all for the interest and warm welcome!
